Just a friendly reminder: Portland’s Tweed Ride for 2019 will happen on Saturday April 6!
Meet at Overlook Park (1599 N Fremont St, Portland, OR 97227) at 10 AM. Overlook Park is at the intersection of N Fremont and N Interstate Ave. Street parking is very limited, but thankfully the MAX Yellow Line stops right in front of the park! (Station: Overlook Park.) And our ride ends near MAX as well.
We depart promptly at 11 AM for a lovely ten mile jaunt through North Portland, passing by many a scenic park and down a neighborhood High Street. Somewhere en route we will have a lovely tea stop. (Bring your own tea and tea drinking setup.)
We will end the ride at Lucky Lab North Taproom, 1700 N Killingsworth Street. Enjoy food and beverage (bring cash or plastic to pay) while being entertained by the music of Lumberjack! Lucky Lab is also two blocks from the North Killingsworth Station on MAX Yellow Line.
As with all Tweed Rides around the world, you are encouraged to look your finest! Think of clothing that evokes a by-gone era, especially from the earlier part of the Twentieth Century in England. Vintage bikes encouraged, but if you do not have one, don’t let that stop you from riding!
Here is the route we intend to use this year. As with any ride, this route can be changed without notice, so please use this as a guideline. For those folks who may not be able to do the full ride, we’ll be passing by the Kenton/N Denver Ave MAX station (Yellow Line) around mile 6.
